There are many ways PacSimulate can help improve packing performance and optimize box selection. Below is a guide highlighting some of the most common scenarios our customers use to get the most value out of the tool—such as nesting or folding items, applying custom rate tables, adding/removing specific boxes, and more.

Each scenario includes a dedicated Excel Template for upload. These templates come with detailed instructions and step-by-step guidance tailored to the specific use case you're working on.

We hope this overview helps you explore features you may not have used yet! As always, if you have any questions or need support, feel free to reach out to your Customer Success Manager.

1. Ship in Own Container (pack-as-is)- No cartonization required, shipped in original packaging
2. Foldability (alternate-dimensions)- Folding items by applying a % change to height and length
3. Compressibility (alternate-dimensions)- Adjusting dimensions by a set % to allow for compression. Typically 10%
4. Exclusion- Specific RefID’s or Sequence values cannot ship in X cartons
5. Item Orientation (Lock-orientation)- An item cannot be rotated on a specific dimension
6. Nesting (compact-pattern)- When multiple units of one SKU are packed in a single box, they can pack in a pattern to decrease overall dims (e.g. hats)
7. Shipping in Mailers (cartesian)- Using mailers with a variable dimensions i.e. length= 10, width=5, height= 1-10
8. Fragile- Indicates how fragile items should be packed (max weight, on top only, etc.)
9. Packing items inside other items (internal-space)- Using empty space in hollow items (e.g. bucket)
