frequently asked questions 📊 pacsimulate what do each of the lineups represent in pacsimulate? baseline in most cases reflects how paccurate’s api would pack the orders you provided using your existing carton list when available, we may also incorporate your actual box selections to provide a more accurate representation of your true baseline figures perfect represents the theoretical maximum packing efficiency, where the model creates a custom, perfectly fitting box for each order—assuming unlimited box size options opc lineups are optimized selections refined from the perfect box list, tailored to the number of cartons you'd like in your box suite for example, in an opc 7 scenario, paccurate identifies the top 7 performing cartons—this set can include both newly generated boxes and those from your current carton sui am i able to use my company’s carrier rates for this analysis? yes, paccurate is able to include your custom rate table for the analysis to best reflect true savings potential note that the cost savings we reflect is simply what would be invoiced by the carrier to ship the container, and does not include fuel or other surcharges please contact your customer success manager for more information, or reference our common scenarios guide attached below why does the model say 25,000 orders when i sent 300k? pacsimulate analyzes a sample of your full order list to maintain fast run times while evaluating a wide range of scenarios to find optimal results for example, a sample size of 20,000 orders provides 99% statistical confidence for a dataset of 10 million orders—meaning we're highly confident that the results would remain consistent if the full dataset were processed i have the sample size set to 30k, why did it only select 28k? pacsimulate analyzes a sample of your full order list to maintain fast run times while evaluating a wide range of scenarios to find optimal results for example, a sample size of 20,000 orders provides 99% statistical confidence for a dataset of 10 million orders—meaning we're highly confident that the results would remain consistent if the full dataset were processed what do the green / red numbers represent? if a result is shown in green or red, it indicates a high level of confidence that the trend will hold when extrapolated to a larger data set green means the metric is improving, while red indicates a decline a gray value means we are not 95% confident that the result is statistically significant when scaled to a broader order set however, the number itself is still accurate for the sample size analyzed how can i look at specific order examples? there are two ways to explore packing performance if you're primarily interested in viewing randomized examples, the pacsimulate ui is a great starting point after selecting a lineup, you'll see the box choices panel on the right each box listed includes a “view common packs” option—clicking this will take you to a page with various frequent item combinations, allowing you to see how that box performs in different scenarios you can click on “view in inspector” to see this tool, which provides detailed order level insights and packing breakdowns to review how specific orders were packed, you'll need to access the results files from your manager profile, click on pacsimulate to view all your simulations select the simulation you're investigating, then navigate to the results section click the three dots and choose download results zip once downloaded, you can analyze the packing details using the output cartons and lineup output files these files can be quite large and complex, so we recommend reaching out to your customer success manager for support with the analysis how can we track performance against these numbers if we implement this box suite? this will be a collaborative effort between you and your customer success manager for example, let’s consider transportation cost when reviewing simulation results, it's best practice to first establish a clear baseline cost per order that aligns with your actual data from there, we can show you the expected percentage change if the proposed box changes are implemented your ongoing feedback will be essential in tracking how your cost per order evolves, helping us assess whether the anticipated impact is being realized what is considered a “good” in terms of volume utilization? how do we compare to your other customers? this varies significantly based on the product type and nature of your business, but typically, a score of 45–50% is considered average, 51–60% is regarded as good, 61 70% is very good, and anything above 70% is considered excellent improvements in volume utilization are important because they lower dim weight and can lead to lower costs, so any improvement can have a big impact our pachealth tool can also provide you with customer benchmarks against cost, efficiency, and green metrics and using our pachealth score you may also reference common scenarios in the pacsimulate section for frequent use cases! ⚙️ api i’m sending a payload but it’s not being received correctly is there a common issue you see with requests? the most common connectivity issue customers experience is due to improper setup of their api key incorrectly set up keys on the customer side will cause paccurate to rate limit the number of eligible requests to prevent this, the client system making the api request must have the authorization header configured in the following format authorization apikey xyz 123 generated key the “ xyz 123 generated key ” text in the above sample should be replaced with your own api key if connectivity issues persist, check the error message of the response you are receiving details on the http error codes paccurate responds with can be found in our api schema https //api paccurate io/docs/# text=%7d ,responses, response%20content%20type in general, any error in the 400s means a malformed request, and anything in the 500s means a server error on the paccurate side in case of the latter, please reach out to paccurate for assistance what’s the best way to trigger/configure rules to make them more simple to maintain? there are several ways to set up packing rules, which are explained in our rule types documentation https //docs paccurate io/docs/rule types to keep things easy to manage, we recommend using the item’s “sequence” field to assign categories to similar skus example categories include fragile, vas, foldable, or sioc you can also trigger rules based on the sku name, but this approach can be harder to scale if you have a large and diverse sku catalog example https //inspector manage paccurate io/config editor?config=n4iglglgpgtgylcbneaua2qatlazgsqbm0agaghahcowbzacwjqeybwcwsgkaoytad2fnkaaelaewuanpioavnbiasaxwobhak4bdhheizuzcjx3c0ifnbgaczihxy8rfhwp1glahst2itm4+qwfumtkqiwaobul1eg09awgjzvnzketrwfsjrzjnamjuksoabiys3w4uxn4hfdcqcvqanhk0dpbfnvje/um0njazc1qrg1sazhakjchtxgbjtpgamqalaeeacxwagqbrrwbdcgajaveafwkabyhgzdlpcabzhrao8hgmy32dfhajkakf6qfwiuypelmmeip4jgiiwscqnc8kh8wsofqnvia4dadaabymzak1yinetnfjqozmlo9zhoihi1wlvgqm4glbaympndpaqpla6axcsxqurlylaqgg8a2d4qjb0gl3laiqbyfkwealhgrcnszwpcfpecbxyhy4neiqqhaiaaisugxchcelji9vtqa of an exclude rule triggered by the “sequence” field example https //inspector manage paccurate io/config editor?config=n4iglglgpgtgylcbneaua2qatlazgsqbm0agaghahcowbzacwjqeybwcwsgkaoytad2fnkaaelaewuanpioavnbiasaxwobhak4bdhheizuzcjx3c0ifnbgaczihxy8rfhwp1glahst2itm4+qwfumtkqiwaobul1eg09awgjzvnzketrwfsjrzjnamjuksoabiys3w4uxn4hfdcqcvqanhk0dpbfnvje/um0njazc1qrg1sazhakjchtxgbjtphhaf0kacmbuqavaqahkebmms8iafkdfqjyeyzlabkdlfpmmqd60pcsmmilmmeip4jgiiwscqnocktcwsp7qnvia4dadaabdgzak1yinetnfj/izmlo9zhqihg1wlsgqtyglbadennbnathla6axcsxqurldfaqgfca2a4qjb0amhlacqbyfkwjhy/myk7fu4thizdbxccvd4qabcuwasi5ckcksq9xqga of an exclude triggered by the sku name how can i view specific orders (request & response) that my company has sent to paccurate? on your main account page, if you scroll down you will see a section that contains your api key if you click into that, you will then be able to search in the search bar for a specific orderid when you do so, we provide a link to our inspector tool that will give you all of the information for that specific order request you sent! how can i use inspector to test specific packs? inspector https //inspector manage paccurate io/config editor is a powerful, free to access tool you can use to test and troubleshoot your payloads if you already have your payload created, you can paste it into the raw tab and hit the re pack button at the bottom of the page this will pack your order and present you with a visual of how paccurate’s api recommends the items be packed quickly iterate through different payload settings and scenarios to validate that your set up is correct alternatively, you can create a simple payload from scratch using the configure tab in inspector add new items and containers along with their dimensions, then hit the re pack button to pack the order this will populate the raw tab with a valid json payload that you can then add additional rules and settings to finally, the share config button will copy into your clipboard an inspector url with the exact payload you currently have configured in inspector you can share this url with others to show packing examples or to troubleshoot specific packing issues what’s the difference between “lowest cost”, “most items”? lowest cost will always return the most cost optimal packing configuration, regardless of how many cartons it uses we can either use retail rates or your negotiated carrier rates to provide the most reflective cost estimates if no rates are provided to the request, shipped volume is used as the “cost” to be minimized most items will return the packing solution that has the most items in the fewest cartons, regardless of cost what information is saved on the paccurate side? in most standard integrations, no information is hosted on paccurate servers and all information must be sent in the request in order to ensure a successful pack recommendation paccurate does offer a product named resources in which certain information can be hosted on paccurate servers (carton lists, packing rules, etc) you can read more about resources here https //www notion so/resource types functionality 1a8bcbf18a9e800fa4e4f55805fabb72?pvs=21 integration information how do i connect & send a request? what do we do in case paccurate goes down? (disaster recovery) https //status paccurate io/ https //status paccurate io/ error codes… payload formatting do you have an example payload i could use as a starting point? this documentation https //docs paccurate io/docs/getting started breaks down the different components of a payload request you can view the payload example at this inspector link https //inspector manage paccurate io/config editor?config=n4ig9gtgjgphcsuqc4qeyamwnpaghaesaxgawwguzibnfabvadsbdmmfeeusgalwib3giqdmac2ioatasif2tgotbkuoaf4pmaomkbwage8uadh2ndiab4oabaf8carwculjsrinkafgiqmabminooaloeaezg1gaqrgaomhtijccs7jwuzcwannm8aekx+cdyisqqqzrasia+ahyetsjsgbb6ticbiujiamwyqiisxacylk36ge7mbbyoadisekiwxavycjbkkmritw3+dtinrqooacghfsmgwmksk612s5egmffjmadc4mbcabjgaacta+u4qlazcihcymcqbbi5hgtbihhyahkiirdsqwf5vaafxpwql9il5ggwze8hf4zye/zuvza8qaergiwi4hkavcersdfaygsegzqk4mgsqlyrlgzrrzaasjd+mgcas1tqsty1x1uvrfbhwhehea it includes our default recommended configurations, as well as a simple packing rule while some are optional, we strongly recommend you include the following information in your payloads as a best practices approach payload category description " orderid " or " requestid " the unique identifier for the order paccurate can accept both fields at the same time "name" add this to each entry in your “ items ” and “ boxtypes ” lists this is the name of the container or item, and can be used to trigger packing rules | \| "refid" | add this to each entry in your “ items ” and “ boxtypes ” lists this is the unique identifier for each container or item, and can be used to trigger packing rules | \| "itemorientationsearchdepth" 2, | a default configuration that improves box selection in exchange for a slightly longer processing period (typically in milliseconds) | \| "boxtypechoicegoal" "combined", | used to guide box selections based on desired behavior available options include • " lowest cost " the most cost optimal selection, regardless of how many cartons are used • " most items " the most items in the fewest cartons, regardless of cost | \| "iteminitialorientationpreferred" false, | ignore the original orientation of the item indicated by its dimensions, allowing the item to be reoriented when packing | response formatting do you have an example i could use? can we change the way items are returned in the response? currently, there is no way to edit the fields in a response in most cases, customers simply capture the information they deem necessary and ignore the rest please view this inspector link https //inspector manage paccurate io/config editor?config=n4ig9gtgjgphcsuqc4qeyamwnpaghaesaxgawwguzibnfabvadsbdmmfeeusgalwib3giqdmac2ioatasif2tgotbkuoaf4pmaomkbwage8uadh2ndiab4oabaf8carwculjsrinkafgiqmabminooaloeaezg1gaqrgaomhtijccs7jwuzcwannm8aekx+cdyisqqqzrasia+ahyetsjsgbb6ticbiujiamwyqiisxacylk36ge7mbbyoadisekiwxavycjbkkmritw3+dtinrqooacghfsmgwmksk612s5egmffjmadc4mbcabjgaacta+u4qlazcihcymcqbbi5hgtbihhyahkiirdsqwf5vaafxpwql9il5ggwze8hf4zye/zuvza8qaergiwi4hkavcersdfaygsegzqk4mgsqlyrlgzrrzaasjd+mgcas1tqsty1x1uvrfbhwhehea and click the “ api response ” option below the image to view an example api response "how do x, y, and z dimensions relate to height, width, and length? can we change that?" x = height y = width z = length in order for the business rules to pull in correctly into paccurate’s system, please make sure that you send dimensions using the above definitions how can i view the pack image that is returned? if you would like to be able to view the api pack image of each order at your pack stations, we have put together a building a pack legend with the paccurate api for how to complete this integration you may also view this information for historical orders using our inspector tool, detailed above please reach out to your csm for additional support 🔑 manager & billing breakdown of plan roles and capabilities action owner editor viewer regenerate api key x x edit api key name/description x x edit billing settings x invite users x x edit users (excluding owner role) x x disable users (excluding owner role) x x view reports & usage x x x how and when do you regenerate api keys? from the paccurate manager dashboard you can regenerate api keys under (settings api keys) by using the regenerate button regenerating an api key will give you a new key that will replace your existing one this feature is used in case you need the api key for the first time or you've lost access to an existing one if/when you regenerate a key string, you’ll see a full copy of it one time and that’s what needs to be in the actual packer requests, so it needs to be copied and saved right then we treat it like a password, and it’s encrypted in our database so if you lose it, you have to generate a new one what support options are available after hours or on weekends?
